Introduction

Kerone’s desiccant air dryer are designed to deliver superior drying and air treatment solutions through advanced engineering and sustainable technology. With more than 48 years of experience, Kerone specializes in customized systems that help industries in automotive, pneumatic, and manufacturing industries achieve precise drying performance while minimizing operational costs and energy consumption.

A Desiccant Air Dryer is an industrial equipment specifically designed to remove moisture from compressed air or process air streams using solid or liquid desiccant materials that have a high affinity for water vapor. These dryers are essential in compressed air systems used in manufacturing, electronics, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and any application where wet compressed air would damage pneumatic equipment, contaminate products, or cause process upsets. Desiccant air dryers achieve much lower pressure dew points — typically -40°C to -70°C — than refrigerated dryers, making them the technology of choice for stringent moisture control requirements. They are also widely used in industrial process applications where the drying of product streams or packaging environments demands reliably low humidity levels.

Why Choose Kerone Desiccant Air Dryer

Kerone’s desiccant air dryer offer exceptional drying efficiency, robust design, and advanced control options. Our dryers are built to handle demanding industrial environments where accurate humidity control and consistent performance are essential. By combining cutting-edge heat transfer mechanisms with automation and energy optimization, Kerone ensures unparalleled reliability and process stability.
Kerone’s designs use high-quality desiccant media — including activated alumina, silica gel, and molecular sieves — selected for their performance characteristics and compatibility with the specific application. The twin-tower design used in most Kerone systems ensures continuous operation by automatically cycling one tower into regeneration while the other remains online, with seamless switchover managed by PLC-based controls. Kerone’s attention to energy efficiency is reflected in its heated and heat-of-compression regeneration designs that minimize purge air losses — a major energy cost in older heatless designs. Comprehensive filtration pre-treatment is included in all Kerone desiccant air dryer packages to protect the desiccant from oil and particulate contamination.

Types and Features of Desiccant Air Dryer

Kerone manufactures Desiccant Air Dryers in several variants. Heatless (Pressure Swing) Dryers are the simplest and most reliable design, using a portion of the dried output air to purge and regenerate the offline tower at atmospheric pressure; they are suitable for relatively small airflows where simplicity and reliability are prioritized over energy efficiency. Internally Heated Regenerative Dryers add electric heaters within the desiccant towers to assist regeneration, reducing the purge air requirement and improving energy efficiency at medium and large flow rates.
Externally Heated Blower Purge Dryers use a separate blower and external heater to provide regeneration air independent of the compressed air system, achieving very low purge air losses and the best energy efficiency at high flow rates. Heat-of-Compression Dryers utilize the heat generated during compression in oil-free compressors to regenerate the desiccant with zero purge air, providing a very energy-efficient solution for oil-free compressor installations.
